Locked in the cockpit of an epic war machine, War Thunder straps you to one of the most visceral aerial combat planes of World War II as you fly alongside your brethren in battle and unload on your enemies. Keeping in stride with real war missions of 1939 to 1953, the skies arent the only environments needing navigation; sea and land missions offer game-play variation to keep you from falling asleep at the wheel. To some players, this Massively Multi-player Online (MMO) action-combat game may create a slight learning curve. A joystick or gaming pad is recommended to increase control.
The MMO experience allows you to employ planes, ships and land vehicles to fight with or against other real players from across the world. Log on to the servers to begin your Player vs. Environment (PvE) solo mission or set up a Player vs. Player (PvP) battle to fight your friends. A mission editor also exists to allow you to craft your own experience. You will pilot military planes from Japan, the USSR, Germany, the UK and the USA. A limited number of aircrafts from Italy, Australia and other nations are also included. There are nearly 150 planes to choose from.
The controls system was designed to be simple to learn and difficult to master. The experience is suited for newbies and seasoned veterans; realistic flight options exist for all players. The mouse can control, aim, and deploy the aircraft and weaponry as can a game-pad controller and keyboard. The cockpit view gives you an inside look at realistic flight controls, as it was modeled exactly in accord with the planes prototype. Details exist down to the last sensor on the dashboard.
